What do you use to wash your beer glasses and keep them “beer clean”? We don’t have a dishwasher and we have to hand wash. I know dish soap doesn’t rinse well. Is there a specific cleaner that rinses well and doesn’t cost a ton. If I have some distilled water leftover I usually rinse the glass before pouring. My glasses don’t hold a good lace all the time. I’ve seen scrubbing with salt to remove any leftover soap residue.
I usually use real hot water, sometimes with salt/baking soda to remove sediment. We also keep a spray bottle of diluted white vinegar and a spray bottle of mixed star san around which I will spray on and soak to disinfect. The latter is as good as you get in most bars!
However, I have occasionally run my good Spigelau glasses through the dishwasher without consequence. I suppose the residue can build up over time though.
I wash my glasses manually simply using Dawn dishwashing detergent and hot water, rinse very well with hot water, and then drip dry. Always use detergenton your beer glasses, never soap.
“Beer clean”, no hassle, no residue.
