My wine is one month old. Haven’t done the first racking yet. It has a very foul odor…not alcohol or vinegar or rotten eggs. My son-in-law has grapes from the same crushing and they are fine. We are only storing in different vessels and in a different home. Any ideas how I might correct this?
Are you using the same yeast and water as your son-in-law?
Some bad odors are caused by CO2 suspended in the wine. Degas the wine and the odor should mellow.
Did you use adequate fermax or similar yeast nutrient. Sounds like perhaps nitrogen shortage.
