Chaulk another one up for Auto-Siphon. Never had an issue with mine. Its just like everything else, if you take care of it, it will serve you well.
I have one of each size and they work great.
I did have one of the 1/2" models break on me, but in a different way than the rest of you have described. I had the plastic valve at the bottom break off one of it’s 2 legs, so it will no longer prime itself. I wish I could buy just that replacement part. The rest of the auto-siphon is still perfect and I’ve kept it around for years in case the inner racking arm ever cracked or broke on the newer 1/2" model.
Another Auto Siphon here; I have had mine for 3 years. Still works great!
