On the last episode of Brewing Tv Chip brewed the Aussie October Ale. The recipe calls for 3 Wyeast Old Ale Blend 9097. The OG was pretty high 1.094 but, I am just curious as to why they didn’t use a starter and is it really necessary to use 3 smack packs to make this beer. Thanks for any input on thus question.
Mr. Malty suggest 3.5 packs.
Why don’t the use 1 pack with a stir plate/starter?
They are in the business of selling brewing supplies.
