Amalaki fruit

Anyone tried this in beer? Its another name for the Indian Gooseberry, and its a fruit that is recently gaining popularity among health nuts. It has an interesting sour flavor, with a little bit of bitterness and a funky pungency to it. I was thinking it might make a unique addition to a wheat beer. A friend of mine has some in powder form that he uses to make a tea like drink (just adds it to hot water). I’m thinking I might throw some of the powder into the primary after fermentation is complete. I doubt it has much in the way of fementable sugar, but I’m not sure.
