This is my first post here and I was wondering if anyone uses Alum bottles. I was at a party and noticed the caps are pry off sooooooo. I was thinking about using them. Being a novice I’m still in bottle collection mode. What do you think should I use them?
You can use aluminum bottles. Just be sure not to scrub the inside to hard. Aluminum bottles have a protective coating inside them to keep the beer from reacting with the aluminum. If you scratch the internal coating, don’t use the bottle.
Yup. and technically the coating is the oft feared but quietly widely used BPA. It’s in more stuff than most realize. Most of the metal water bottles, beer bottles, flasks, etc. use a BPA for the interior coating. It’s starting to change, but thanks to Made in China…
