A Great Week for 1+ Year Old Craft Brew

This week, in addition to my home brew of course, I’ve enjoyed:

    2011 Southern Tier Creme Brulee Stout
    2011 Founder Backwoods Bastard
    2008 Boulevard Sixth Glass Tripel
Favorite of the bunch: Backwoods. Loved it fresh too. I believe the 2012 version comes out soon.

I like the aged Creme Brulee better than the fresh version. The vanilla and caramel are still in the forefront, but less overwhelming.

The malt really is the star of the show in the 4 year old Sixth glass, but the esters are still there in a nice supporting role. Getting some nice dried fruit in the flavor profile.
