Hello when one is sparging a 5.5gal batch how many gallon’s does one want to collect in there brew pot?
I would figure a pint per pound absorption… So how much grist do you have? You’ll figure that it varies of each recipe… I would also watch for the SG reading too! You get below 10 and I would stop collecting… Does that make sense? You are rinsing the sugar out of the grist, and it gets to a point you aren’t gaining much benefit with the amount of time rinsing… Now batch sparing is different and we’d want Denny to weigh in on his technique.
