4 squared brew

So I’ve been told by my wife to make an easier to drink brew. So I’ve been trying a type called 4 square. I use 4 lbs base malt, and another 4 lbs base specialty malt, then 4 oz of special malt, and 4 oz of hops…. One batch I used 4 lbs of pilsner, 4 lbs of marris otter, 4 oz cara red, to the boil 1 oz german magnum, and 30,10, flame out american fuggle, yeast was 570. My wife enjoys it and after being in the keg almost a month I find it a wonderful brew too! This also allows me to brew the bigger styles I like and yet keep her happy, not to mention the nagging has quieted down considerably!! Sneezles61
