1st Mead Crazy Fermentation

I used (mistakenly?) a redstar champagne yeast with 3 lbs of honey and some orange to ferment a one gallon mead (or mead-like substance!). The OG was around 1.10 and it has dropped to 0.99. The taste is something close to turpentine. . .

Any suggestions of what I can do to save/resurrect/mix with this stuff to make it drinkable?

Give it a very long time to mellow.

Sample it a year from the brew date. You will probably be pleased with the taste.
