Sanyo kegerator instructions

by squirrel » Sun May 29, 2005 5:09 pm

I posting this for all the newbies and not so newbies!
Its a 4MB power point with pictures and instructions on how to make a kegerator out of a sanyo 4910/11/12 fridge. It also outlines an idea that I thought of to find the coolant line on the top of the fridge so you dont drill thru it.
hope it helps!

And if anyone has any questions, im more the willing to help out as best I can, so let me know.

Would this also be applicable for the similar Kenmore Elite 4.9 cu. ft. refrigerator?

Nice job on the slide show. I like the idea of a larger board underneath for a more solid feel. I am about to do this conversion myself and will use your idea of the larger board. Love the ending with the picnic tap, just couldn't wait to cut it open could you?

Just want to follow up. I started converting my Kenmore into a kegerator today, and the found the Kenmore and Sanyo are very similar, probably almost indistinguishable. Anyway it went fine, and now there's a 2" hole in the top of my refrigerator. I'm just waiting for my draft tower to show up tomorrow.

The freon line on the Kenmore is in the same spot in the Kegerator, about 7" from the back of the fridge. Leaves plenty of room for a 2" hole that I drilled today. Looking forward to my first batch on tap later this week.

Unfortunately I don't, but to be honest, I don't think they'd be of that much help anyway. Like I said, it turned out the that Kenmore Elite was very similar to the Sanyo. The instructions and pictures in your Powerpoint presentation can be used for either refrigerator.

I'll be sure to take pictures of the kegerator tomorrow when I get the draft tower on there though.

Awww shucks....
Glad I could help. Looking at the pics, your setup is exactly how mine looks with the exception of the board material....and the cobra tap.:lol:

Cool idea for finding the refrigerant line by the way. When your sprayed down the top did water actually evaporate along the path of the line?

cobra tap.............
micromatic has that tap (dual faucet) at 1000$. must be a different tap.

yeah I just used 1/2 " MDF that I had laying around from previous projects.

and yes the water evaporated pretty quickly (~1 min) where the refridgerant line was. I did not use water, I think I saw a bottle of fantastic or simple green and just grabbed it and sprayed.
water will work just as well thou.

thanks again CorpulentCoder.

Cobra tap == Picnic Faucet.
I wish I had the money for one of those Cobra towers though. Mmmm....
The wife would shoot me though. I fear for my life enough as it is, no need to give her more reason.

Its done!!!!!!!!!

I might put on rails and drip tray, but im in no hurry!
and I updated the ppt instructions with tower finishing instructions and I might add, its rock solid!
That little flare nut you see on the lower right is just sitting there, I need to put that on the hoses inside to connect to the QD's.

I wanted to say thanks again for the idea of a larger board for mounting the tower. I used an 8x11 piece under mine and it is solid feeling. I did not want to have bolts going through into the fridge cause I knew I would cut myself in a drunken state one day trying to change kegs.

Anybody have a copy of Squirrel's PowerPoint slides?

by vMark » Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:29 am

I just got my draft tower and want to build my kegerator this weekend. Does anybody have a copy of the PowerPoint slides that were posted by Squirrel that I could get my hands on?

I'm interested in how the larger board was used to make a more stable mounting platform.

Thanks!
