Place first 4 ingredients on a 5-inch-square piece of cheesecloth; tie with string.

Bring cider and juice drink to a boil with spice bag in a Dutch oven. Partially cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes. Remove and discard spice bag before serving. Serve hot or cold.

This looks like a good recipe. How long would you let it sit after bottling?

nicneufeld wrote:Well, I've got another cider planned. Kind of going cheap on this one, in some respects (yeast) but we'll see how it goes:

3.5 gallons Musselman's pasteurized apple cider
1 gallon (11 cans) of Cran-Apple 100% juice concentrate (thawed)
3 quarts of pure 100% unsweetened cranberry juice
Packet of Nottingham ale yeast

I know nottingham lays waste to cider, but I've never tried it so I thought at least with a cranberry cider there's lots of flavour and acid so its going to still have some flavour left, and this would be a good one to try an aggressive strain on. At least its not champagne yeast, hehe.

But it should give an OG around 1.080, and I'll bottle condition it without sorbating/sweetening.

Wow, thanks for sharing this recipe. My grandma and I would usually make Apple Cider so this is new to me and I would love to try it and share it as well.
