Tried this tonight, and I really like it. I've been trying different stouts and porters lately and this one has some nice flavors. What porters and stouts do you like?

If it doesn't have "I" or "RI" in front of it, I am not a huge fan of stouts...I guess I like some "O" varieties as well. A plain stout doesn't do it for me.
Primary 1: Sweet Coffee Stout
Primary 2: Empty
Secondary 1:Tongue Splitter Ale
Secondary 2 :Furious Clone from Midwest
Bottled: Some sorta heavy IPA, Terrible Light Ale

Let's see. Porters
Anchor Porter
Sierra Nevada Porter
Deschutes Black Butte Porter
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald
Fullers London Porter - great, but absolutely fantastic when cask conditioned
Flossmoor Station Pullman Brown -- they call it a Brown but it's more of a robust porter

Stouts
Guinness
Old Rasputin
Surly Darkness
Bell's Double Cream Stout
Goose Island Oatmeal Stout
Rogue Shakespeare Stout

My RIS, a pint of which I just finished :D

I love both of these styles as there are so many ways to go with them. Dry, creamy, big, robust, etc., etc.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give 9s and 10s to:

Brooklyn Chocolate Stout
Founder's Canadian Breakfast Stout
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter
Hinterland Bourbon Barrel Stout
Lakefront Snake Chaser Irish Stout
Left Hand Milk Stout
Lion Stout
New Glarus Coffee Stout
New Holland Dragon's Milk Stout
Okocim Baltic Porter
Samuel Smith Taddy Porter
Sand Creek Oscar's Chocolate Oatmeal Stout

I've lumped all mine together as I tend not to differentiate much between porters and stouts, because one brewery's stout is the next brewery's porter. It's very blurry these days. And historically, stout is really just a darker porter anyway, with perhaps a bigger charge of roasted barley for that certain coffee-ish flavor. But I challenge you -- if blindly handed a random porter and a random stout, you might be hard-pressed to determine the difference, especially if blindfolded and from different breweries.
