Bell’s Two hearted and IBU’s

Hello,

I am thinking about making two hearted ale sometime in the next few weeks but was wondering what are the IBU’s in this puppy?

Thanks

I don't know for sure but NB has the 3-heated ale kit which has the same OG (1.067) and 53 IBUs.

I seem to remember 50 was the right amount, but don't count on it.

I'd get on bellsbeer.com and contact someone on their contact list, such as the general store. They'd know. I'd run down to the bar right now if I wasn't brewing a batch as we speak.

The website justs lists:

India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

Original Gravity: 1.058
Alcohol by Volume: 6.0%

There is a good recipe in the Sept. '04 BYO magazine. I brewed a clone last weekend, but the recipe was not right and I ended up with 1.080!

The NB Three Hearted kit recipe comes out at about 70IBU, for what it's worth...

You're right. I only put .5 oz in for the bittering addition when calculating.

The BYO recipe is good for

O.G 1.058
FG 1.012
IBU 56
ABV 5.9
