I have a Barley Crusher and have been happy with it. I realize that the MM is a three roller mill (correct?), so does that allow for a finer crush?

MM has two roller mills and three roller mills.
Two roller mills will crush grain just fine.
Three roller mills pre-crush the grain in first roller and final crush in second roller.
You should get more even crush this way.

I bought my MM3 last summer right after the NHC. Its great and will eat through lots of malt in a hurry!

A fine beer may be judged with only one sip, but it's better to be sure.

What RPM? 250 would be about 15 min.

Cool. I have 177 RPM geared motor.

Hoping it will take a little less then with BC.

You will be going from a Yugo to a Camaro. I am sure you will enjoy it!

I may pull the trigger and order a MM soon to replace my BC. Any pros or cons from MM owners would be appreciated.

+1 Except I call mine "Brutus". The MM3 is fast, especially with the 39# hopper, and the pre-crush allows me to almost powder the grain while leaving the hulls intact.

Re: Barley Crusher for sale

I ordered the mm3 last weekend and it was at my door in 3 days. Just finished assembly and can't wait to brew. One question about setting the gap. Instructions say the gap spacing is between the top driven roller and the bottom third roller. How do you get your feeler gauges into this area when the unit is fully assembled? The reason I ask is I tried a test run with some grain and it does not want to feed through.
