Yeast fail?

A man has to know when to say when… When my yeast are slow, I too don’t much care to use anymore also… anxiety sets in waiting… I will see that beginning around 6th generation, if there is a bit of time between brew dates. I notice, the more often I would brew the viability seems better… Do they actually die off, given too much time then? Sneezles61

This would be 4th gen now I guess…starter, 5 gals pils, 5 gals pils, split for 10 gals vinna, one cake split for 10 gals pils

I wonder if the second gen when I left the entire cake for the 5 gals could have caused an issue with the long term viability? It was obviously a pretty large overpitch.

I am wondering… If you keep them busy… they stay viable… wait too long, well surrounded by dead cells that cause something that would deteriorate their viability? They are experts out there that are reading these… Denny? Sneezles61

They sit around and get lazy. It happens
