What did you cook today?

3 hours in the smoker. 2 hours wrapped in foil with some apple juice, or other, in the oven or smoker. 1 hour back in the smoker unwrapped to dry and finish. Could be more or less than 1 our depending on thickness of ribs. I’m a little dubious because I don’t like fall off the bone ribs. Just going to try it. An experiment to save some time but hopefully not ruin them.

Smoking ribs day. Some of the small trim pieces were ready for snacking after a couple hours. It was time to eat. No picture of finished ribs.

Pork butt for dinner last night with salads and buttered potatoes with onion chives. It was called a bone in arm roast.

Meal fit for me too.

I love cheeseburgers but find the low fat content ground beef does not cook as well or taste as good. Sure, I know it’s bad for your cholesterol but if you eating a cheeseburger instead of something that tastes like warm cardboard then how much worse can it be?

So what I find to be the best tasting but worst for you are the big tubes of ground beef. They are like 73/27 fat so really fatty. I cut open the tube and just slice it into patties with and electric knife then layer them with wax paper and stuff in a Zip Loc to freeze. Lipitor takes care of the rest.

BTW this is not our regular meal. Boneless, skinless chicken breast on the smoker is also very good. Nothing beats a juicy cheeseburger though. Oh and Land O Lakes American cheese.

Linguini Alfredo with parmesan cheese sauce and toasted French bread with provolone cheese.

Friend sent me the Ulu. Slices hot and cheesy bread easily. Also other doughs and herbs. Nice tool

We got an Ulu when we visited my brother-in-law and his family in Alaska. We also got the cutting board that matches the curve of the blade. Love that knife. Flars, your posts always make me hungry. :innocent:

:beers:

The power of suggestion. Guess who just ordered an Ulu on Amazon from the Ulu factory in Anchorage, Alaska? I can pretend I bought it for my wife but have to admit it’s a pretty cool kitchen gadget.

My post was successful if it made you hungry. I may never have made this very simple pasta dish if I hadn’t seen it made by some one else. I think of it like home brew. There are tasty recipes to share.

Same here…solid little tool.

I’ll dig out my wifes, grandmothers’ slate one and post a picture of it… I’ll bet it was a buggar since it wasn’t very sharp… When all these new peeps showed up there, they also brought some form of flat metal… That became the next generation of Ulu"s… My wife has her mothers’ also… And we don’t use one… Something aint right with that… Sneezles61

Cooked up some crispy bacon, pork sausage and set them aside. Chopped up some red taters and fried them while cooking some broccoli, cauliflower in another pan. When potatoes were done added the bacon, sausage, broccoli, and cauliflower to them along with a big ol’ handful of fresh spinach. Scrambled 10 eggs and added them in along with some shredded cheddar. Mixed up the whole mess, put a nice layer of cheddar on top and tossed it under the broiler until the cheese was melted and just starting to brown. Served with a little Frank’s. Sorry no picture but it was killer!

Maybe this will draw him back…

Tonight’s dinner is grilled cheese with tomato soup. Homemade bread with muenster cheese and tomato bisque made with tomatoes and herbs from the garden, and homemade shrimp stock from shells saved over the last several months.

Last night for our “Thirstday” get together at the marina across the street I made Totchos. Basically nachos made with Tater Tots. Google totchos for lots of recipes. I used Krafts loaded totchos recipe. The gang blew through them. Sorry wasn’t bright enough to take a picture.

Credit to the Hurricane Grill in Marathon FL, the first place I ever had them or had heard of them.

Just had them at Patties And Pints in Portsmouth,OH. I second that emotion…delicious!

Damn, I saw there was 2 posts… Was hoping for Flars to be one of them… I did find I have his email, sent out message… Sneezles61

I would love homemade hot sauce. I made hot mustard last winter because I couldn’t find any I liked locally.
