Velvet Hammer

 OK!!! This is Texas, so we are just starting to get some great local brews like the rest of you have had your whole lives(lucky dogs).

I had a taste of “Velvet Hammer”, probably the smoothest best tasting beer I have ever tasted from ANYWHERE in the world. Been all over and this an Imperial Red Ale at 9% alcohol! which I like my beers a little tamer, but WOW!

If you like a hoppy, bitter, then this is the one for you. It is brewed here in Dallas and the first chance I have I’m heading for a brewery tour. If you travel, like me, keep your eye out for this beer when you go through Dallas.

That is a great beer, no doubt. Would be interested in an home-brew equivalent!

Looks like some guys on homebrewtalk and trying to zero in on it. Also a couple recipes on Brewtoad.

Bring it back. The 12 ozers come in brown bottles but those green 750’s are prone to being lightstruck.
