Shipped Yeast Got Warm

My Vermont Ale strain arrived at 84F. I don’t think it was warmer than that, if any, maybe a degree or two.

How bad is 84F for yeast?

84°F is not to bad. It takes 110° to 120°F to kill yeast. You will certainly need a starter though.
edit: Calculate an extra 10% loss in viability.
