Off the Top of My Head

Just brewed this Sunday.
15# pale 2 row
1# aromatic malt
1# carapils
2 oz mosaic first wort for 60 min.
1 oz southern promise @ 60 min.
1 oz southern promise @ 45 min.
2L omega west coast IV.
2 oz African queen dry hop in the keg.
This is what happened after fermenting for 24 hrs @ 66 deg.
Lucky I caught before air lock blew off.

Looks like a vigorous fermentation. I’m using Wyeast 1318 today and I anticipate, even with decent temperature control, I will use a blow off tube. 1318 is a monster…
Ok I see the temp 66*,pretty reasonable. A little cooler by 2 or 3 degrees might reduce the frequency of actually breaching the lock or tube.
