newbie question

Hello:
New to NB and this forum. We just brewed 1st batch of Amer. Wheat and all went seemingly well. 24 hrs in and getting some good reaction but no bubbling yet in the airlock. How long does it take for bubbling to begin? Just curious? thanks–hope to brew more and someday actually contribute this forum.

It can take up to 36 hours sometimes. Did you use dry yeast or liquid? Did you aerate (shake up) your wort before tossing in (pitching) the yeast?

Triple:
Thanks for the reply! We used dry yeast and we did areate the wort for approx 2 minutes per the DVD directions.
Cheers.

Bubbling doesn’t always occur - there could be a small leak in a seal, especially if it is in a bucket fermenter. Don’t sweat it, but take a peek, if you must.
