New Belgium/3 Floyds Gratzer ale

Part of the Lips Of Faith series of beers. This beer pours a dark chocolate brown with a rocky head. A slight smokiness in the aroma from the oak smoked malt. Flavor is very porter-like with a slight sour tang in the swallow from the lacto. Sour is a little more prevalent if you let the beer warm a bit. Long lingering finish produces an oaky note.

If you were to drink it quick and cold you probably would think it was just another porter. Ultimately not bad. I’m not a huge sour or smoked beer fan but this one has so little of those flavors I found it tolerable.
