Milkshake IPA Question

I am going to be brewing up a mango milkshake IPA next weekend, and have a question. The recipe calls for 4 lbs. of mango. Should I use a puree or chunks? I’m thinking a puree would get more of the flavor into the beer. It is added during secondary.

Pretty basic recipe, 11 lbs 2-row, 1/2 lb of carapils, 1/2 lb of acidulated malt, 2.75 lbs flaked oats and .44 lbs lactose. Hops are a combination of Citra and Mosaic.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Never used mango but sounds delicious! Puree should be easier to work with, I would think. In the milkshake Ipas I’ve had, I felt they needed a bit more hopping, at least some perceived bitterness to balance out the sweetness.

Mango jummy. Our host does sell fruit purre. This works perfect. I do use it. When i make my cherrie beer. The last kriek i did i used frozen fruit. Works. But next time go back to the puree. Bit easier to work with

I just did 5 pounds of Dole Mango Chunks, canned, in light syrup and was disappointed.
