Mead question

I made a mead using honey / brown sugar and apple cider. It has formed 2 very distinct layers in the carboy. The air lock is very active so fermentation is occurring. Is the layering something to be concerned about? I turned the honey / brown sugar into a simple syrup with a bit of the apple juice before I mixed everything in batch’s in my kitchen-aid before adding to the carboy (I don’t have a 5 gallon pail yet, but because of this I will definitely get one before my next batch).

Thanks in advance.

Just pick up the carboy and swirl it until everything mixes up again. Nothing to worry about. If you did nothing, it would probably resolve itself.
