Its that time of year

Well i noticed that little hop heads are showing today

Nice! I grew hops for a couple years. Being an urban dweller I had to grow them in large containers which was limiting. In addition I go out of town pretty much every weekend so if it didn’t rain I would return to wilted hops. They’re easy to grow if you have a rainy environment. If not they can be a PITA and take a lot of watering. I ended up giving them to an individual that had enough land to grow them. I do admit it was cool to return on a rainy weekend and see that they grew a foot!

Chives and Hosta’s…
I gave up on hops a few years ago… after the deer decided they like them too…

I don’t maintain them just stuck them in the ground some years they do better than others. I’ll throw them in a pumpkin ale that I’ll ferment them in the pumpkin shell again. A harvest ale
