Hops question

My hop vines are now at the top of the trellis, about 8 feet tall, and are now reaching for the sky. I’m wondering what to do now. Just let them grow, or put out some twine for them to be trained to? Any suggestions from you hop growers?

If you can string some twine horizontally to train them along that would be good. Otherwise they will be fine, but wont grow as much without something to hold on to.

Not a pro, but shouldn’t they have started their training at about a foot tall? I am under the impression that the earlier the better… but like I said, a novice here.

They did, they just outgrew the trellis they are on.

Oh, I see. Get them to grow horizontally…
