First Year

These are first year Cascade hops which are all at the top of the vine. My Nugget hops start from 4’ up and are pretty even to the top. My question is; what would be a good 5 gal extract recipe that would include Nugget and Cascade hops?

Any tips on harvesting and drying would be nice too.

I’d just do a basic American Pale Ale, using Magnum for bittering, then a whole crapload of your hops at flameout. That will let you get the most flavor and aroma out of your hops.

7 lb Extra Light DME
1 lb Crystal 40

1 oz Magnum @ 60 min

2-3 ounces each of your Cascades and Nuggets at flameout. Steep hot for 10 minutes or so, then chill as usual.

That does sound good, thanks!
