Do you listen to music while brewing? If so, what?

Is anyone else bothered by this? All? ALL!? Polka, garage techno, witch-house, Dei Antwerd…[/quote]

You left out (c)rap

I’ve got a few network streaming devices in my house. One is in my garage so I can listen to anything from my library on demand while I’m brewing. My usual playlist includes ~700 songs–mostly metal, hard rock and alternative from the 70’s to current day.

Really depends on my mood - usually something sludgy but not too slow. Fu Manchu, Kyuss, Clutch, COC, Down, etc. usually make the cut.

I listen to loud music, 105k btu burner requires this! Lol.

That’s why I said what I said…he must know A LOT about music.

I like jungle/drum n bass and black metal and sometimes just silence. Relaxing to have a quiet house while brewing. Of course, I like a quiet house anyway, which is weird since I’m a drummer.

I listen to everything from Santana…Chicago… Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young

to

Flamingo guitar

to

Frescobaldi Toccatas.

All of the music bubbles at the tempo of boiling wort!

DOC

Dream Theater… 8)

I guess i have to clarify, I like what ever is on the oldies station or the new country station.

Since you brought this up, I’ll admit… I have playlists of flamenco guitar (my kids call it the ‘spaniard music’) that I really like and I also have a bunch of stuff that is usually under the genre of ‘tropical’. Stuff from Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc. Salsa, Merengue and all of that. Go listen to something by El Gran Combo or Joe Arroyo. I picked up some of that stuff travelling and I just like the sound of it. I’ve also got a bunch of Lounge & Chill stuff like Thievery Corporation, Federico Aubele, Lemongrass, Funky Lowlives, Suba, Cibelle, etc. Sometimes you just need something different!

Yeah definitely agree with some good Dead or Phish Shows while brewing. I play Terrapin Station or American Beauty for the wort while fermenting. Other days it may be reggae…some tasty green for the wort…some tasty green for my head.

In honor of bonaroo being this weekend, I will listening to this sickness tonight while brewing an english premium bitter.

The special guest on these sets are just sick.

I like using “iheart radio” while brewing. It keeps me from having to create a playlist and gives a ton of variety. I typically go with The Black Keys channel or the Foo Fighters channel…although in moments of weakness ( and when the wife isn’t around) I have been known to throw on the Lil Wayne channel or even the Lady Gaga channel.

Usually listen to zeppelin or doors or the like. Somehow seems appropriate. It wife s around usually our indie mix like the shins etc…

…stevie ray,buddy guy,albert king,muddy waters ,roky erickson,skynyrd,allman bros,molly hatchet,the outlaws…this what i listen to brewing or not

The Dead channel or Jam On channel from Sirius/XM. Groovin’ n Brewin’!! Unless there’s a Brewer baseball game on!

We’re on either the 80’s channel or the 90’s channel on Sirius. Although I keep hoping for a Car Talk marathon on NPR.

I tend to follow the style being brewed and the country of origin. I also use this as a chance to listen to entire albums that I cannot get through during the busy day. Today is saison day. I’m going with my complete library of The Cure as I don’t have much in the way of French and Belgian music. The last white IPA was my library of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It is just me out there anyway.

Hey Muddy,
Thanks for the killer sites man! I still like to play my old bootleg cassettes every now and then(got a bunch!) but those sites will be awesome. That Mule set list is Crazy Good! Warren is the man! Especially after partaking with a few cold ones! Goin’ Phishin right now!

Yeah they really do come in handy.
