Do you listen to music while brewing? If so, what?

Now he’s gone, now he’s gone, Lord he’s gone, he’s gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin’ down the track
He’s gone, gone, nothin’s gonna bring him back…He’s gone.

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside.
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!

I figured there was at least one other deadhead out there!

My goal is to try to mash, sparge, boil and chill in the time it takes them to play a full show. Generally hit it pretty close

I have a computer attached to a flat screen in my brew area. So full shows on youtube and/or vimeo are the absolute best to brew to. The louder the better.

Full shows on youtube? I have not checked lately

This was from his birthday last week. So far it is great. It is just loaded with amazing artist.

love it, Thanks!

Sorry guys, did not mean to take over this thread…

I usually have Pandora playing. I love to listen to Metallica while brewing but will throw in some classic rock or something more recent like Shinedown. Tends to be less heavy if my wife is helping with the brew session.

Floyd, Radiohead, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Kare and the Cavemen, Bon Iver, Bowie, Band of Horses, Beastie Boys, Flaming Lips, CSN&Y, David Gilmour, Dropkick Murphys, Elastica, Jawbreaker, Mr T Experience, Jimi Hendrix, Ramones, Jurrasic 5, Handsome Boy Modeling School, King Crimson, ELO, Manowar, Man or Astroman, Shatner, Nimoy, Talking Heads, Tenacious D, Mitch Hedberg, The Who … Weird Al…

I’ve found that loud music = better beer. Trust me. It’s science.

anywho…
Podington Bear = prep stage
bela Fleck/ matisyahu = Mash
mastadon/ BTV = boil, this is when I check-out. First beer isn’t cracked until after 1st hop addition. KEEPIN’ MY HEAD IN THE GAME!!!
“Hillbilly Fever” (old stuff, ie Hank Sr.) = chill/ pitch/clean

But football trumps all! Best part about brewing in the fall is College Football!!! Can I get an AMEN!!!

Cheers sistas and brothas!

AMEN! Yankee by birth but southern at heart. Any SEC game will work. Just a few weeks away.

I’m definitely of the older crowd here. I like to listen to groups from the 70’s… now referred to as “oldies”. Sports talk radio rates high on my list too.

Celtic Radio on Pandora or dropkick murphys !

Always the punk rock…angry, young and poor lol

nothing like blasting Filth & brewing to make your neighbors wonder!

At three hours. Phish shows are always great to stream while brewing . Here is a pretty good pro shot from dick’s.

There really is nothing like the energy of a phish show.

I listen to metal that is none more black.

+1

It depends on the brew. Stouts & Irish reds get the celtic playlist. Pales/Bitters get old school punk. Death metal for barleywines & grunge for blonde ales… cause blondes should be a little dirty
