Oregon Brew Crew Hosting 12th Annual “Fall Classic” Homebrew Competition

Portland, OR - Attention all homebrewers! The Oregon Brew Crew (OBC) homebrewing club is pleased to announce the return of the OBC Fall Classic Homebrew Competition sponsored in part by STOUT Tanks and Kettles, and the Oregon Hop Commission. A BJCP (BJCP.org) sanctioned competition, the Fall Classic is open to all styles of beer, cider and mead, from all national and international homebrewers.

Special categories include beers made with Oregon grown hops, best new homebrewer, and best homemade soda. The Oregon Brew Crew is also partnering with Design Week Portland in hosting a beer label competition (http://www.designweekportland.com/event … -by-design).

Registration is available via the OBC website, www.oregonbrewcrew.org/fallclassic. The fee is $7 per entry.

All entries are due by October 17, 2013. Drop off locations include FH Steinbart in Portland, and Brew Brothers in Hillsboro. See the website for the full list of drop-off sites.

Judging will be held October 26 at Portland Brewing and winners will be announced that afternoon. Entries will be judged to BJCP style guidelines. Guidelines and judging location are listed on the club website. This competition will follow all AHA/BJCP rules, available at www.bjcp.org/rules.php.

The Best of Show winner will receive a 15 gallon stainless conical fermenter from Stout Tanks and Kettles ($500 value). Additional prizes will be awarded in specific categories, and a generous judges raffle will be held the day of the event.
