Blue Mountain Brewery, Afton, Virginia has a few good beers that I've tasted locally on tap. I had this one, their Uber Pilsner, an Imperial Pils on tap at Monk's BBQ in Purcellville, VA tonight. It was served in a small, maybe 6 oz snifter because they serve all beers over 7.5abv that way...OK...first negative point. $1 per ounce of beer...not more than once for this home brewer. It was WAY too sweet for a pils. Either under attenuated or somebody needs to check their grist bill. Aroma was malty, no hop presence. And as previously stated just too damn sweet with no hop favor or bite at all. Obviously didn't order a second one and won't try it again.
I hate to give my VA breweries a bad review but I have to call em as I see em.
