Haha yea, Id say all said and done that will be pretty accurate. Items that are still left to get I would really appreciate help on, grain mills, hydrometers etcā€¦

Thanks Again.

This is the mill I use. Do you have a local grain source. I would figure out what your going to brew and get your grains and hops in bulk. Hops are easy to source online grains better to get locally

Thank you for your service @EGBIII. This thread is definitely brewing porn. LOL You might think about calling your build thread that. Canā€™t wait to see what you come up with!

That is where I came to my conclusion on my ā€œelectric build upā€ in the beer gearā€¦ I didnā€™t want it too fancy pants automatedā€¦ I still need to be there, hands on. Iā€™m a home brewerā€¦ Not a BMC brewerā€¦ Althoughā€¦ :smirk: Sneezles61

Current thoughts on layout, would love feedback.

whatā€™s the corner room that looks like a shower?

When I build my next brew space Iā€™ll definitely include a ā€œwalk-inā€ cooler of some kind for fermentation temp control. Iā€™m tired of messing with swamp coolers. Iā€™m about to build a small one in my brew cave now. This one will just be about 4x6 and maybe 6 ft tall. Fully insulated and cooled by a window AC unit (with the temp probe rigged) running through a temp controller.

Will you plumb water directly over to your brew area for easy pot filling? Have you planned for a vent hood over the hot kettles? Where is your house H2O heater and what type is it?

Where does the fermenter go. Where is the grain bins . I have mine in bins on rollers so I can roll the around. Also investment in a Ford up table that you can set up on brew day to keep that area near the sink clear for cleaning

Donā€™t want your brew room looking like mine. Those yellow top bins are the grain bins double as whatever

The corner is where my sump pump for the basement is. I have the SPike conical Fermenter with heating cooling set up and a glycol chiller for the Fermentation. Ill have plumbing to the sink and a wall mounted faucet for filling pots.

I will be doing a vent. once I get rocking and rolling, Ive designated space and the exhaust pipe path. Ill assume it makes life much nicer but is there any concerns with not doing it right away.

You can just see the fermenters on the left side there is a nice little alcove for them to tuck into with the glycol chiller inbetween. Grain bins will be stored to the right of the Herms system.

OH yeaā€¦forgot about your fancy glycol chiller systemā€¦

Since itā€™s an electric brewery you donā€™t have to worry so much about CO production but Iā€™d get a vent hood in just to handle all the moisture youā€™ll be putting into the air when brewing. If you have other gas appliances nearby, water heater or furnace, you may want to consider if you need make up air pulled in from outside when the vent hood is running.

That bottom right corner, near the barā€¦ Make it a bit bigger for your kegsā€¦ Some place you can walk into as Danny called itā€¦
Aw come on brew cat, that just a nice cozy brew spaceā€¦
Exhaust is essentialā€¦ No need to grow moldā€¦ Wheres the floor drain? Epoxy coat the floor? Even the walls? For a ceiling, do a drop ceiling with the vinyl covered sheetrock tilesā€¦ 2ā€™ X 2ā€™ā€¦ Nice, brite L.E.D. lightingā€¦ Yeah, an extra faucet thatā€™ll really spew out the water, be it for filling the kettle or washing the floorā€¦ A fridge for hop storage? Bins on wheels for grainsā€¦ What kinda chiller? Sneezles61

Floor drain is right in front of HERMS system. probably going to go with a tile floor and tile the walls. [quote=ā€œsneezles61, post:58, topic:27208ā€]

For now Im going to paint the celing a dark gray before covering but will be a drop ceiling. For sure on bright lighting. [quote=ā€œsneezles61, post:58, topic:27208ā€]

Its a penguin glycol chiller https://www.penguinchillers.com/product/12-hp-glycol-chiller/ thats the link will allow for atleast two fermenters.

You should consider just polishing and sealing the concrete slab. You can even stain it prior to sealing. They look fantastic when done right and probably cheaper than tile.
