Best British base malt?

What is your favorite English/Scottish base malt, for your run of the mill bitters, porters, etc?

I can’t recall what the consensus is, on which brands have the best quality/reputation.

I have used Thomas Fawcett marris otter before but it’s been awhile.

I really like the Warminster Floor Malted Maris Otter but I can’t say I’ve tried every other Brittish base for a comparison. I use it frequently for Milds, Porters, Stouts and a few pounds going in my lower gravity American Pale ales.

I really like TF Pearl Pale Malt. I have been using a bag of Muntons Pearl Malt that is really nice as well.

+1 to TF Pearl.

It is used almost exclusively in many of the “vermont” ipa’s like heady topper. Makes a great beer, though I haven’t tried it in a porter/stout/bitter.

My fav. is Simpsons Golden Promise. Tried M.O. and floor malted, settled on G.P. Just me.
