Beersmith question?.?

Hello yes I brew 3.5gal BIAB batch’s on my Brewer’s Edge Mash&Boil so my question I have my equipped set up on beersmith but I notice in the Advanced options there the BIAB Grain absorption I know the default Is 0.586 now does that take into account one squeezing the bag? See with my set up I can’t squeezing because the Mash&Boil has a stainless malt pipe… Here a picture of what I am talking about https://i.imgur.com/2BA989r.jpg

You have to brew a couple batches and track your own absorbtion rate and put that in. Beersmith or any software is using an average

I agree with @brew_cat, nothing like customizing it with your own real world data. Having said that I doubt Brad would consider squeezing the bag in his estimates. It would vary too much from person to person.

Probably true. Traditional biab is no squeeze.

Not on the BIAB site I get my bags from :stuck_out_tongue:

First I heard of biab was from an Aussie YouTube. It was full volume down and dirty

And probably no chill right? Brewers down under are all about minimal water usage.
