Airlock not active

Hi all. I have a dead ringer extract going in a primary bucket and noticed that the airlock is not bubbling.

I noticed that I get a slight smell of the wort around the edges of the bucket, which is brand new. I’m concerned with -

  1. Do I have too much liquid in the airlock
  2. Is it normal to get slight aroma around the edges of the bucket
  3. Is my yeast not working and should I rep itch
  4. When do I determine if I have to dump

  1. Your bucket lid isn’t sealing anymore and the CO2 is leaking out from around the edges.

All my buckets do this at this point. Nothing to worry about!

If your wondering if its fermenting pop the lid or pull the airlock and look in. You got krausen its fermenting. You can smell fermentation also.
